What the Drug Bust Mombasa 2026 Operation Uncovered

Inside the house, detectives found 902 rolls of cannabis sativa (bhang) wrapped in khaki paper and ready for distribution, weighing approximately 300 kilograms. They also seized three kilograms of skunk, a high-potency cannabis variant, packed in sachets.

In addition, officers recovered 300 grams of heroin at the same location. The combined street value of all narcotics seized stands at Sh2.19 million.

Furthermore, detectives recovered a digital weighing scale and clear polythene packaging materials, which investigators say point to an active distribution operation rather than personal use.

Both suspects are now at Chaani Police Station awaiting arraignment. The recovered narcotics are secured as exhibits for use in prosecution.

ANU Reaffirms Commitment to Tackling Drug Networks in Mombasa

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the operation forms part of its ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks across Kenya.

According to the DCI, intelligence-led operations remain central to the ANU’s approach in Mombasa County, where the port and coastal geography make the area a known transit and distribution point for narcotics.
