Members of Parliament have raised concerns about delays at the VOK Nyali Affordable Housing Project in Mombasa. They called for faster completion during a site visit on Friday.

The National Assembly Committee on Housing and Urban Planning inspected the site as part of a coastal housing tour.

Phased Completion Proposed

Acting Chairperson Hon. Rindikiri Mugambi expressed dissatisfaction with the current construction pace.

“We told the contractors to hurry up so they can complete this program as quickly as possible,” he said.

MPs proposed that contractors finish at least three blocks first, then hand them over for occupation.

This would show visible progress ahead of a planned presidential launch in August.
