Labour Cabinet Secretary Dr Alfred Mutua on Wednesday launched a three-day recruitment drive for over 4,000 overseas jobs. The exercise targets Kenyan youth under the Kazi Majuu programme.

Speaking at the event at NITA Mombasa, Mutua urged young people to seize the opportunity. He listed available positions in construction, hospitality, security, and other sectors.

“We have 4,000 positions… Please come. Come try your luck,” Mutua said.

The drive runs from Wednesday, May 6 to Friday, May 8, 2026, at NITA Mombasa from 8am to 5pm daily. Roles include masons, plumbers, housekeepers, artisans, security guards, riders, cleaners, and loaders.

Inclusive Opportunities

Mutua emphasized that the programme is open to people living with disabilities. He highlighted suitable roles such as office jobs and barista positions for those who need to work while seated or have hearing or visual impairments.

Message to Previous Recruits

Mutua addressed concerns from last year’s recruits who are yet to depart. He called for patience and said those who rejected previous offers cannot blame the government if opportunities change due to external factors.

“Looking for work is also work,” he said.
