Green Eagles, Likoni United Reach SISI NI DOLA Cup Quarter-finals

The SISI NI DOLA Cup has entered the Round of 16 stage, with several teams securing places in the quarter-finals after impressive performances over the weekend.

Green Eagles became the first side to book a quarter-final berth after edging Mtwapa All Stars 1-0. Paul Otieno scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute to seal victory.

Likoni United also progressed after a hard-fought encounter against Goodhope ended in a goalless draw in regulation time. Likoni prevailed 5-3 in the penalty shootout and will now face Green Eagles in the quarter-finals.

Nyundo FC produced one of the tournament’s most convincing performances by defeating Simba Apparel 3-0. Swaleh Juma opened the scoring before Joshi Ndela added a brace to send his side comfortably into the last eight.

The winner of the Round of 16 fixture between Juve FC and Nabada FC will meet Nyundo FC in the quarter-finals.

Quarter-final Race Intensifies

Other Round of 16 fixtures will see Alshifaa face Fetuwe FC, while Mombasa Sports Club take on Mombasa Kings.

The winners of those two matches will face each other in the quarter-finals.

Azam United are set to play Wananyuki FC, while Fayaz Bakers will battle Kombani Youth. The winners will also advance to the quarter-finals.

Coaches Call for Talent Recognition

Coaches from the participating teams praised the high level of competition displayed throughout the tournament and urged coaches from Kenya Premier League clubs to scout and recruit talented young players who have impressed during the competition.

The tournament organizers also appealed to football fans to turn out in large numbers to support the matches and motivate the young players as the competition heads into the decisive knockout stages.
